- Allergic Reaction to Drugs
- SYMPTOMS. Allergic reactions to drugs may cause unexpected fever, hives or
- other skin rash. There may also be symptoms similar to those of asthma, hay
- fever, anaphylactic shock or serum sickness.
- CAUSES. In some people, almost any medication can cause mild or even severe
- allergic reactions. The most common type of drugs that may cause allergic
- reactions include insulin, local anesthetics, tranquilizers and penicillin.
- TREATMENT .Stop taking all medication and call your doctor.
- .If severe reaction, you should get an emergency room as quickly as possible
- because medical attention is necessary.
- .If mild reaction, such as itching, you should still consult your doctor
- and he may recommend an antihistamine for you to take.
- .A compress that has been dipped in cold milk may be helpful.
